1616. OR Struck Copy of 1820 North West Company Token in Center of Medal, 1950. For many years, numismatists were puzzled about the origins of struck copies of Oregon's North West Company tokens (originals are listed in the "Red Book"), which have been described in articles by Jacobs and Brunk in recent issues of "Numismatica Canada." This medal shows that they were made from the center of the die used to strike numismatic convention medals. In a circle around the obverse of a copy of the North West Company token is "Pacific Northwest Coin Convention 7th Annual Meeting, Centralia, WN, May 20-21, 1950." In a circle around the reverse is "Oregon Numismatic Society, Portland, Oregan" (Note that the state's name is misspelled) "ANA, ANA, Seattle Coin Club, Seattle, Washington." 40 mm, bright brass, couple of spots XF. $50.00-60.00+
